Joint Lab of Cognitive Neural Networks and Degeneration 

Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology and Suiren (Shanghai) Medical Technology Co., Ltd. collaborated to build the Joint Lab of Cognitive Neural Networks and Degeneration. Working on the cognitive mechanism of the human brain and using deep neural networks as the carrier, a deep cognitive neural network with human-like characteristics is implemented, and cutting-edge neuroscience research and Artificial Intelligence technology innovation ability are composed.

Key research directions include basic scientific research on cognitive neural networks and degeneration, innovative hardware research and development, integrated chip and circuit design, and algorithm research and development for cognitive function detection and evaluation. Implementation of scientific research projects such as early, middle, and late intervention treatment following cognitive neural network degeneration. 


Profile of the Director of the Joint Laboratory 

Academician Zhang Xu, co-director of the joint laboratory, was elected president of the Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology in June 2021, who also served as chairman of the Chinese Neuroscience Society, vice chairman of the Chinese Society of Cell Biology, vice chairman of the Chinese Medical Association's Pain Branch, and director of the Shanghai Brain-Intelligence Engineering Center. 

Cai Jiang, co-director of the joint laboratory, graduated from Tsinghua University, artificial intelligence (AI) expert, founded Suiren (Shanghai) Medical Technology Co., Ltd. as chairman in October 2018, concurrently served as a distinguished researcher of Guangdong Institute of Intelligence Science and Technology, a director of Shanghai Lianhui Brain Intelligence Engineering Center, a standing director of Shanghai Oriental Brain Medicine Foundation. He was was a member of the ICIS 2017 program, and a special reviewer of the attribute theory column of the IEEE BigData Conference

He is dedicated to the study of the basic theory of artificial intelligence and the attribute theory of artificial intelligence algorithms in the diagnosis and treatment of brain diseases, with his research focus on the application of artificial intelligence in neurodegenerative and psychiatric diseases.

He spearheaded the research and development of a brain function assessment and screening system, proposed a method of combining artificial intelligence algorithms with software and hardware, and took the lead in understanding that the brain can be monitored and analyzed through a multi-dimensional, multi-modal concept, and provide multi-dimensional brain data to clinicians with the goal of treating neurodegenerative disorders and brain-related diseases.

 

 Suiren Medical Technology

 Suiren Medical Technology was founded in 2018 after years of research accumulation, with the goal of revealing the cognitive network of the brain using MPU (think processor) chips, artificial intelligence algorithms, and ultra-modern sensors, empirically by brain data. On January 30, 2021, the first self-developed brain function assessment and screening system was invented. While developing the medical version of the brain-computer interface, the company will continue to research and develop the home version of the brain-computer interface for those suffering from depression, insomnia, anxiety, and other neurodegenerative psychiatric problems.
