Great News! Four Postdoctoral Researchers from GDIIST Awarded the 79th Batch Gen

Recently, the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation announced the "Notice on the List of Funded Recipients for the 79th Batch of General Grants of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation in 2026". Postdoctoral researchers Yi Wei, Zhang Shaoning, Wei Qi, and Ling Wei from the Guangdong Institute of Intelligent Science and Technology (GDIIST) were successfully selected for the funding list, adding another achievement to the Institute.

 

The China Postdoctoral Science Foundation is a national research fund specially established for postdoctoral researchers currently in their stations. Its funding primarily comes from central government appropriations and aims to support outstanding postdoctoral researchers with development potential and innovative capabilities to carry out innovative research during their tenure, thereby cultivating a high-level innovative postdoctoral talent pool.

 

Postdoctoral researchers are the pinnacle of the young talent cohort, the foundation for high-level talents, the reserve force for scientists, and the new force for innovation and entrepreneurship. GDIIST has always regarded the development of its postdoctoral team as a key component in enhancing its overall scientific and technological innovation capabilities. In recent years, the Institute has adhered to innovating institutional mechanisms, continuously optimising the policy environment, and is committed to building a classified development and training system for young talents, expanding the postdoctoral team, improving the scientific and technological innovation capabilities of its talent pool, and supporting the highquality development of talent cultivation and scientific and technological innovation, while continuously providing talent and intellectual support for the construction of a new highland for innovative development in the GuangdongMacao InDepth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.

 

The GDIIST substation of the Postdoctoral Research Workstation of the GuangdongMacao InDepth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin was officially established in March 2022 and has recruited a total of 63 postdoctoral researchers to date. Since the establishment of the station, 11 postdoctoral researchers at GDIIST have been awarded the "National Natural Science Foundation of China Young Scientist Fund (Category C, formerly the Young Scientist Fund)", 15 postdoctoral researchers have been awarded the "General Grants of the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation", and 1 postdoctoral researcher has been awarded the "Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program".
